The Amstel quarter is located in a park-like neighbourhood along the River Amstel, between Oud Zuid and the Watergraafsmeer. You can reach Amsterdam’s main shopping streets, the lively Leidseplein and the markets within 15 minutes. The exclusive fashion and specialty shops of Oud Zuid are a mere ten minutes away. You can take a meandering cycle ride through Amsterdam’s surrounding green belt, and can reach Ouderkerk on the Amstel and the Ronde Hoep polder in just ten minutes.
Both the centre and the A10 ring road can be reached by car in just a few minutes, and Schiphol Airport within ten minutes.
In addition to this, the Amstel Quarter has excellent links via public transport. The Spaklerweg Metro station is within walking distance. From here trains travel towards the centre, the south and the business district of Zuidoost. Amstel Station, one of the main terminals of the city, is within easy walking distance. From here, one inter-city train runs every fifteen minutes to Amsterdam Central Station, Utrecht Central Station and further afield. In addition, several buses and trams also depart from this station. Schiphol is therefore of course within easy reach.
The towers of the nearby business district, including the Rembrandt Tower and Breitner Tower (Philips NV) are a mere 5 minutes walk away.
The Amstel Quarter bustles with life in its trendy bars, clubs and water sports facilities. In addition, it has a number of authentic buildings of historical value. The Amstel is the lifeline of the area: it reaches out to the city from the oasis of tranquillity that is known as the Amstel Quarter.
