Situated in the heart of the Amsterdam canal district near the Nine Streets shopping area, the Spui sqaure with its many restaurants and cafés, and also on walking distance of the world-renowned flower market, Amsterdam Museum and Royal Palace museum on Dam Square, this is the ideal location from which to base oneself. Public transport facilities abound with a selection of no less than 6 different tram lines. The shopping streets Leidsestraat and Kalverstraat are also just round the corner. Despite this, the location is relatively peaceful, as the 14th century Begijnhof is just opposite. Interested in old, rare, second hand and out-of-print books? Every Friday you can browse through the Amsterdam book market on the square right outside the apartment.
