The stately Valeriusplein in the Oud Zuid neighbourhood is a quiet, green residential area: it is located next to a small, green park and the Vondelpark is just a two-minute walk away too. Elsewhere, the area is bustling and full of life: for example, a wide range of luxury stores, specialist shops and delicatessens can all be found in the Cornelis Schuytstraat, which is close by. Saturdays there is a local organic market with excellent produce on the Jacob Obrechtplein nearby. The area also boasts a large number of popular, good-quality eateries and restaurants and the Concertgebouw, Rijksmuseum, the Van Gogh Museum and the Stedelijk Museum are all within close walking distance too.

From the tram stop on the corner of the Valeriusplein, tram line 2 takes you to the centre of the city in 10 minutes. An express bus leaves for Schiphol every 10 minutes; the stop for this service is just a short walk from the property. Any location in the city is quick and easy to reach by bike as well. Station Zuid and the Zuidas business district are a 15-minute walk; the A10 ring road is just a several minute drive away.
